We promote curiosity through offering a wide range of loose parts and fascination opportunities based on the children’s individual learning levels and interests. Outdoor play is an important part of what we offer at Daisy Chain and we provide stimulating and exciting play opportunities outside in all seasons regardless of the weather. Full wet suits are provided for all children.
This room is for babies and children under 2 years of age. All of the resources are at child level so the children are able to access the toys independently. We regularly re-organise areas and toys to reflect the interests and learning need of the babies and children. Each child has a book with photographs of their family to help them feel secure during their time in the Blossom room.
This is our pre-school room and is for children aged 3-5 Years. We encourage the children to chose their toys and take care of their own room and resources independently with a little help from the team. In this room we will be preparing the children for their next stage into school by providing more academic activities and supporting independent skills such as dressing and tidying up. Activities are planned with the support of the children and are always centred around the children’s current interests.
The sunflower room is our 2-3 year old’s room. In this rooms the children are supported in language development and toilet training whilst being introduced to specific areas of learning such as Maths and Literacy. 2 year old funding is available in this room. The children are encouraged to learn through their interests and are supported in outdoor play throughout the year.
Children are supported in understanding basic rules and boundaries in a friendly helpful manner and are encouraged to share their skills and knowledge with others. The children and families at Daisy Chain often start as strangers and leave as friends.

Spanish Pete attends the nursery every week to help teach the children Spanish and Moonbeams Yoga also attend once per week to provide Yoga, Wellbeing and mindfulness sessions to the pre-school children.
We work with health visitors and other professionals to ensure the children are getting the most out of their learning and we create plans together to ensure we are supporting them effectively. Our most important partners are the parents and carers of our children. We work closely with our families, offering help and support and sometimes just and ear to listen. We gain vital information from them that helps us in getting to know the children as much as possible and enables us to further their learning and development at nursery in line with what they are doing at home.
